Sometimes my life feels a lot like Abraham of old. Like the faithful nomad, our lives have been one of pitching tents and building altars. The reality is that pitching tents and building altars is a lot of hard work! It’s hard because life always feels so temporary. Over the past six weeks we have traveled to numerous campuses and visited with pastors, friends, family and international students.

Thanksgiving came early at the Gibson house! We celebrated on Nov 2nd because we'll be overseas doing campus ministry training in Japan
While being on the road gets to be weary, the richness of conversations centered around who Christ is, the satisfaction of seeing people “get it” when you talk about the priority of loving and serving international students, and the joy of building genuine friendships with people from around the world makes all the miles and shuttles and strange beds worth it. I realize that this is not my home. All of this life is just temporary for all of us and building altars, giving honor to the one who created me and called me into relationship with Him, is what truly counts. In fact, this relationship is eternal.
Thank you for your support and prayers. We can only keep moving ahead because you are standing with us. And each time I swing my suitcase up onto that strange new bed or sit and drink tea with a new friend from a distant shore, I thank God for you and know that we are partners together to build something eternal in the lives of others.
