Life is a story and this chapter is about to end. On January 1st, Gwen and I will “turn in our Chi Alpha keys” and say goodbye to four years of ministry as the Directors of International Student Friendship Ministries. We leave with the conviction that Chi Alpha is one of the most strategic and fruitful ministries happening in America today, transforming the campus, the marketplace and the world. Some of the Highlights for us have been the following:
One More Friend Initiative - Through the dedicated work of our wonderful ISFM work team we launched this simple challenge, “Do you have room in your heart for one more friend? Would you make it an international student?” As a result, intentional outreach to international students has grown within Chi Alpha by 21% and one of every seven Chi Alpha participants is an international. www.onemorefriend.org
Campus Visits - One of my greatest joys was to meet Chi Alpha staff and students from around the country on their campuses. In my four years I was privileged to walk on 67 universities here in the United States and eight universities in four nations. www.chialpha.com
Van Buren House - Sharing life day to day with our international students who lived with us and studied at The University of Southern California has marked our lives and theirs significantly. We will cherish those times forever.
The People - We have had the great honor of working closely with the leadership from National Chi Alpha. The vision and dedication of the leadership, at every level, has been an inspiration to us. We need Chi Alpha now more then ever as we take on this new challenge of International Media Ministries. www.imm.edu

The World Missions Summit is a gathering of students and young adults sponsored by the Assemblies of God World Missions and Chi Alpha. We anticipate 6000 participants in this experience, which will challenge everyone’s heart to do all they can for the love of God and for people. Gwen and I have significant responsibilities both with Chi Alpha’s International Student Ministries and with our new role as Directors of International Media Ministries. Pray with us for God to challenge students to sacrificially give a portion of their lives to bringing justice and hope to this world. BTW, Why not come join us?
How you can pray for us this month…
- Pray that God will touch students’ hearts to be part of a global movement to share Christ and his compassion with others.
- Pray for strength for Gwen and I as we push toward the end of the year to finish strong with Chi Alpha and begin with IMM.
- Pray for peace in our lives, as we trust Him to provide for all our needs.
