Recently our container arrived from the US. After spending months here in Spain, living with borrowed blankets, silverware among other things and maintaining a life just one level up from camping, it has felt a little like Christmas around here. Because we have been in transition for over a year now, some of this stuff had been in storage that long. I mean, I’m reconnecting with pictures, mementos, and books which genuinely make me feel “at home”.
Now I know, “this world is not my home” and “stuff will never make you happy” but I have to say these items from my past inform me of my identity, my history, my life really has an anchor. The most interesting item, was finding my journals. Now that is real Jerry Gibson history.
